Q1.  What's included on the Interactive MATH Full Year Curriculum CD?

This CD includes a recommended lesson plan, formula reference sheets, multimedia lessons, interactive questions and answers, full curriculum book, worksheets pack, worksheets solution guide, exams pack and exams solution guide. In addition, if you have purchased a Premium Edition, you will also have new "valuable" and "time-saving" features. Q2. What type of computer system do I need to run the software?

You need a computer with Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, Windows 2000, or Windows 7) operating system and about 250MB disk space available on the computer hard drive.

Q3. I just installed the product but it doesn't work. It's saying "this software has not been validated yet." What should I do?

When you first install the software after initial purchase, the installation on this machine must be validated. Simply complete the information on the Registration form and submit it. As long as you have an internet connection, the system will send the data to A+ TutorSoft requesting to activate the MATH software. Once activated, you are ready to use the interactive MATH software.

Q4. Why do I have to register the program before I can use it?

Registering your program allows A+ TutorSoft to determine what version of the software you have which in turn makes the support process easier should you need any technical support. Registeringsoftware also allows you to obtain a valid "license file" which is required to use our Interactive MATH program.

Q5. I have the Premium Edition and I specified 1 student at the time of registration, can I add a student now?

At this time there is no capability to "easily" add additional student. However, you could uninstall the software, install it again and submit the registration again with desired number of students.

WARNING: Please note that you will lose any existing student data when you uninstall and reinstall the software.

HINT: A+ TutorSoft allows a maximum of 5 students in the Premium Edition. You may want to specify an appropriate number of students that you plan to have at a future time when you register the MATH program.

Q6. I have the Premium Edition and I forgot the parent UserID and Password that I used when I setup the profile, can I still use the Interactive MATH Program without logging in?

Yes, you may select the "Start Without Profile" option on the startup screen and continue to use the Interactive MATH program. However, some premium features and functionality may not be accessible which allows parents to manage student assignment data and allows students to view their progress reports. You will notice that the "Admin Panel" or "Progress Tracking" button is missing from the main menu.Also, note that a userid and a password are NOT required for the student. Your student(s) can continue to use the math program as usual simply by selecting their name from the dropdown list.

Q7. I have the Premium Edition and I forgot the parent UserID and Password, how can I retrieve the userid and password?

Please locate the one page "Quick Installation" instructions or the CD case. The Admin UserID and Password is listed there. Once you locate this, select the "Admin" from the drop down on this screen and specify the Admin UserID and Password to login as an administrator.

Once you are logged in as "Admin" you will be able to retrieve your original Parent UserID and Password

Q8. I installed and successfully registered the A+ TutorSoft Interactive MATH program. But it does not play the multimedia lessons when I try to open any lesson. What can I do to fix this?

Our Interactive MATH program uses Adobe Flash Player to play the multimedia lessons. In this case, most likely either you do not have the Adobe Flash Player installed on your machine or the version you have is incompatible with our software. Please close the MATH program and install the Adobe Flash Player version that is included on the CD under "Supporting Applications" folder. Simply double click on the " install_flash_player_10.exe" to start the installation and follow the instructions as they are displayed.

Q9. I installed and successfully registered the A+ TutorSoft Interactive MATH program. But it does not open any documents such as a topic in the Curriculum Book, Worksheets or Exams. What can I do to fix this?

Our Interactive MATH program uses Adobe Acrobat Reader to display various documents. In this case, most likely either you do not have the Adobe Reader installed on your machine or the version you have is incompatible with our software. Please close the MATH program and install the Adobe Reader version that is included on the CD under "Supporting Applications" folder. Simply double click on the " AdbeRdr1010_en_US.exe" to start the installation and follow the instructions as they are displayed.

Q10. Does this Interactive MATH program run on Apple computers?

Our Interactive MATH program does not run on native Apple computers. However, there is a tool called "Parallels" available that will allow your Apple computer to run in Microsoft Windows like environment.Although we have not thoroughly tested this configuration, we have reports from customers that indicate that the program works very well on Apple computer running the parallels.

Q11. Do I need internet to run this Interactive MATH program?

No, the program is designed to be installed on the local computer hard drive and runs locally to the machine where it is installed. And therefore, you do NOT need internet connection to run the MATH program. However, this program MUST be registered before you can use it once the installation is completed. You WILL need internet connection (just this one time) when you are ready to register and "activate" the program.

Q.12  Does A+ TutorSoft provide a placement test that will help me determine at what grade level my child is?

Yes, A+ TutorSoft does provide MATH Placement Test to help you determine areas of strengths and weaknesses for your child for each grade level. Please visit www.aplustutorsoft.com , to sign up for the Placement Test and have your child take the test.

Q13. What grade levels are the placements tests available for?

A+ TutorSoft is working very hard to make the placement tests available for each grade level. Currently we have placement test available for the 3rd and the 4th grade. Please check our website at www.aplustutorsoft.com often as the placement tests for more grade levels will be available in near future.

Q14. Do I have to take the placement test for both consecutive grade levels?

Our Placement Tests system is designed to test student on two consecutive grade levels. The Part A covers the lower grade level and Part B covers the higher grade level. So for example, in the 3rd and 4th grade Placement test, Part A of the test is the 3rd Grade and Part B of the test is the 4th Grade.

You do NOT have to complete both the parts, however you MUST submit finalized tests to the system in order for the system to generate a final report. So for example, if you want your child to take only the 3rd grade placement test, you sign up for the 3rd and 4th grade test, and then,

1)Have your child complete (answer all questions) in Part A which is the 3rd grade and submit (finalize) the Part A.
2)Open the Part B and simply submit Part B (without answering any questions).
3)This will allow system to grade and generate a final report. Of course for the 4th grade in this case, you will see scores of 0 (zero) since no questions on Part B were answered.

Q15. I do not want my student to see the answer keys or the solution guides. Can I hide and unhide the answer keys and/or solution guides from the student?

Yes, you must have purchased the Premium Edition of our Interactive MATH software running version 3.0.0.0 or above. You will see a button "Admin Panel" when you login as a parent. When you click on the "Admin Panel" and then "Parental Control", you will see an option where you can hide or unhide answer key to Worksheets and Exams as well as the worksheet solution guide and exam solution guide.

Q16. How do I know what version of the Interactive MATH program I have?

Please start the Interactive MATH Program and click on the "About Us" in the upper right corner of the application window. You will see an information window displayed and the MATH program version number is listed in the information box.

Yes, you can print each worksheet and exam to allow students to work offline using traditional "pencil-paper" method.

Q23. Can I print any parts of the Curriculum Book, Worksheet Solution Guide or Exams Solution Guide?

No. The Curriculum Book, Worksheet Solution Guide and Exams Solution Guide are designed to be used as reference material. Since these documents are designed to be used as reference and are NOT workbooks, it is NOT necessary to print these documents. In addition, A+ TutorSoft is committed to the environment and therefore, has provided the documents in easily accessible electronic format which eliminates the paper waste.

A+ TutorSoft does not encourage or allow any reproduction of these documents in any format. However, if you must have these documents in print format, A+ TutorSoft does offer these products in printed version. Please visit www.aplustutorsoft.com for more details.

Q24. Can I install the software on more than one computer?

Yes, as long as it is intended for use by the members of the family in the same household. Under the license agreement, you are NOT permitted to install the software for any other use including commercial use. Please see the "Terms and Conditions" of the license agreement for details.

Q25. I had to reinstall the software on my machine due to some technical reasons. How can I get a new license file to activate this MATH program?

Please send an email to support@aplustutorsoft.com explaining what exactly happened and why you require new license file. A+ TutorSoft may charge a small fee to re-issue a new license file with the timeline that was set for the original purchase.

Q26. Can I take real-time exams that are automatically graded by the system?

The CD product does not offer this functionality. But A+ TutorSoft offers an online edition of the product "A+ Student-Online MATH" that includes practice exercises, practice exams that can be generated with the templates that are included in the product. It also provides some parental features that allow parents design, review, schedule and administer various assignments by simply clicking on the built-in templates. Additionally it provides diagnostics and remediation engine that helps identify student's weak area and develops an individual action for to help student master those specific weak areas.
